Two-factor authentication increases the security of your user account and prevents third parties from accessing it – for example, if another person knows your password.
How do I activate two-factor authentication?
In your account settings, scroll down to «Password and security». Next, select «Activate two-factor authentication». Read the information carefully and follow the steps provided. You can use your authentication app of choice. However, we recommend «Google Authenticator» (Download for Android | Download for iOS).
Once you’ve installed the app, you can use it to scan the QR code. Alternatively, you can manually enter the security key into the app. The app will then generate a code for you. Enter this code on the same page on which the QR code appeared. This will activate 2FA, and you’ll be given ten backup codes to save. You can use these backup codes to log in if your smartphone has been stolen or misplaced.
With two-factor authentication activated, you’ll be prompted each time to enter the code displayed in the authentication app in order to log in to your account and make purchases. This code is temporary and changes regularly to protect your account.
Only Google, Facebook or Windows login will not request our two-factor authentication.
How do I deactivate two-factor authentication?
To disable two-factor authentication, log in to your account. In your account settings, scroll down to «Password and security». Next, select «Deactivate two-factor authentication».
I’m having problems with two-factor authentication and can’t log in. What should I do?
If you can’t log in to your account using two-factor authentication, try logging in using your backup codes instead.
Should this not be possible, our customer service team can also disable two-factor authentication for you. You’ll need to provide a written request along with a copy of your ID. We can only disable two-factor authentication for you if all the information provided matches.
Please note: A request over chat is not sufficient. You must submit a written request by e-mail, and it must be sent from the e-mail address stored in your customer account. Please note: we do not have access to your backup codes.
